Four seems so big. So much bigger than three. I swear he looked taller and wiser as he snuggled next to me and whispered, Is it morning? Is it really my birthday?

:: valuable lesson learned - check gel colour stash to make sure you still have black to make fondant road because chances are your local supplier will have sold out too and your Route 66 will have to be a very unauthentic brown..

Cole :: last time we went to the zoo he handed back his carousel ticket before the ride began.. this time, there was much seriousness in staying ON - surely it must be because now, he is FOUR.

Serendipity in Chaos had me lingering last week - that beautiful light, that beautiful love. Lottie's gorgeous two at Oyster & Pearl caught my eye too.

ten on ten :: may 2013

An ordinary day in most ways. The few differences were wonderful ones - attending a special Mother's Day performance by the preppies at Missy's school and some simple birthday prep before our biggest boy turned four over the weekend. The excitement and business of the weekend ahead mixed with being in and out of the car most of the day meant photography was sporadic and fairly ordinary. Next month will be better.
